my truck turned off today and i think it was because of the cps. my truck was sputtering then it would not start. I checked the fuel filter ant there was alot less fuel in it than normal. please help......

 

When you crank the motor, does the tach move any? if it moves, it is not the CPS. If it does not move, Probability says CPS. post more after you test this to see.

 

to answer your ? the tac moves but it is very very minimal

 

Check the fuel pressure. Schrader valve Looks like air valve) on the side of the FPR on the fuel filter.

If the tach is moving it's probably not the CPS, but can't rule it out.

 

Cuda_jim... Turned The Schrader Valve..fuel Came Out.. Tried To Start The Truck And No Luck. Opened The Fuel Filter And There Is No Fuel In The "whatever Its Called". We Have About The Same Amount Of Gas In Both Thanks I Think... So When I Tried To Switch Fuel Tanks The Gas Gauge Didnt Move. Changed The Cps And This Didnt Change A Thing. Truck Still Has No Fire. Fuel Filter Was Changed Two Weeks Ago When It Left Me On The Side Of The Road The First Time. Any More Suggestions?

 

fill the fuel bowl and see if it will start if it does see how long it will run then if it dies again check the fuel bowl most likely it will be low on fuel again sounds like you need a fuel pump

 

Filled The Fuel Bowl And It Didnt Start...checked The Fuel Bowl And There Is Still Fuel In It.

 

check your fuses #22 and #9 under hood

 

That Is Not It Both Of Them Are Ok

 

plug it in for a few hours and when you try to start it again jump the gpr befor you crank it

 

Plug What In And What Is The Gpr?

 

the glow plug relay next to the fuel bowl looks like the one for your starter jump the two big termanals with a piece of wire for 20 to 30 seconds then jump in and start it see what you get

the two on the gpr turn your key to the start pos then jump the terminals then get back in and start it

 

o.k...not sure if I did this right. every time I held the wire on the two terminals it started to spark. turned the key to the start pos and tried to start it...wouldnt start but it did make the wire hot as you know what.
