12-15mpg depending if im mostly stop and go in the city or open highway driving. my '99 7.3l has a lift and bigger tires, so i know it would be alot higher if it was stock.
I've got a 97 PSD 4X4 SC. Filled up in Monte Vista, CO and took off back to Texas running on the smaller rear tank first. I didn't have to switch tanks until I got to Dumas, TX. I figure it got around 22 mpg. That's with a mild Super Chip and an aftermarket downpipe.
My 96 with mods got 19.5 - 20 hwy and 17.5 average overall daily driving. My 04 is getting about the same hwy but not as good in city stop and go driving.
local mountain back roads (up, down, round and round) lots of 3&4 gear and some 55mph highway, is everyday driving for me, getting about 15mpg consistently. last road trip was 50% freeway/50% rural highway, got 18mpg. got a long freeway trip coming up end of June, guessing I will get 20 or so. no lie-o-meter to tell me what I want to hear, I crunch the numbers. will post results.
