Here's the mpg for my last few fill ups. I have a 2003 7.3 super cab 4x4 all stock, 3.73's. I just picked up a bunch of stone this past weekend, empty weight was 7040 lbs - no people or tools in it, and about 20-22 gallons of fuel.

My data: haven't updated the spreadsheet in past couple of weeks, but I have the data.

Side Note about Additive column:
DKW = Diesel Kleen, white bottle
DKG = Diesel Kleen, gray bottle

Hope this helps

I get about 14.5 mpg with city driving and about 18.5 highway. 1999.5 stock except for a muffler delete pipe and the 6637 filter mod.

I use to get the 14.5, but lost it, and have not figured out why yet.....Thought it was the diesel fuel required sulfer chage that did it to me. But maybe not.

Is anyone running a chip on their 7.3? If so, has it made a difference in your fuel economy?

See sig. for mods. with the bigger tires and mostly hwy driving I avg. about 17-18 mpg. If I am stuck around town in city driving I avg 14-15. If I hook up the camper I am down around 12mpg.
As with all mileage debates tire condition, inflation, weight of right foot,headwinds,inclines,elevation,ETC... all contribute factors to how far you will go on a tank of fuel.

good ol 7.3

Where I live is flat.
I changed the fron and rear diff's to 3.55 since I didn't tow cattle.
This 7.3 was mated to a manual transmission
I recorded 22 mpg overall on two tanks of fuel!
Driving empty.
great enjoyment in shifting the diesel except in in stop and go traffic.
talk about a scootin' machine.
