smog pump?????
cut your old one and use it to measure how long you need then take it to the part store. I keep an old long in my tool truck to use when on rode calls.
but you are going to need to disconnect and block off every thing that connects to it. not a small job. it might be easier to just replace the pump. tour truck loses a lot of resale value with it gone. and we will all breath easier.

As for removing the belt? Why wouldyou cut it when you could just loosen the tensioner pulley. As for the smog pump..he's right you MUST plug everything, however, check your belt routing as my 5.0 1995 I cannot bypass the pump with the shorter belt, I have to get a pump delete kit (in the plans). And the breathing....uh don't get me started...I'mremoving mypump and getting help with it from a buddy who's done it twice.....

I would replace the pump for now. PM me if you need an old one. I plan to get a compressor in place of the smog pump so that I can run an air tank on my truck and keep the same belt routing.
Bonus------I will get the big truck "pshhtttttt" when the pressure gets to high. I can't wait!

You don't have to plug anything, & you don't have to take anything off. I used a flexible steel tape to get the length I would need on a 5.8 minus the smog pump. OEM belt including smog pump was 102", bypassing pump belt length was 94.5". I put it on without removing anything including the pump. Caused no problems, no codes set, no interference, no drivability issues (as long as one-way check valves & cross-over pipe are still sound).
