I got it out... the whole moving part.
off to the autoglass shop.

as for the defrost thing... how does it work? when/who/what turns it on??
does it actually really work??

The defroster for the mirror is on anytime the ignition switch is on. I believe it is also on when the switch is in the accessory position.

mirror replacement

after i found out that the mirror - glass only! - is about 900NIS (220 US$) before labor... i went to a auto glass shop, set me back less than 20$, including labor, a cup of coffee and a smile...

The only thing is that the defrosting isn't there. though not much of a concern here in israel...

sure, and the shipping cost/customs/handling. not mension TIME...
I'll save my international ordering for things I cant get here, like chips/mods etc.
