Looks like in about a month and a half.. I'll be making my way down to Truck Toyz for a 4.5" Donahoe Racing Lift, Dual Stabilizer Steering, 35" Tires and of course, Stock rims.. Why do you ask? I love em so pfffft!
I'm pretty excited.. I shopped around Austin and couldn't find crap.. I remembered bear talking bout TruckToyz so I called up.. Not bad.. Little under 3,000 for the lift and tires..
Lol.. It's the drive that will kill me... McAllen is about 8 hours from Austin.. Nobody around here carries DR.. I found a shop in Houston that can get it.. I said forget it, Truck Toyz is the Distributor for DR in Texas, I'm sticking with him.. Plus he's a Sponsor here.. Even better.. I can visit some friends in Brownsville
Congrats bro! You'll have a great time down there. Marty and his crew are really good people....and your truck will come out of there perfect.
.... Sidebar: Do you work for Dfuser? ... if so I need to give you a call...drop me an email at kodiakpb@gmail.com
Sent you an email..
I may not be going up there but Marty will supply me with the parts.. I talked to my service manager and he can install the lift here.. He's pretty damn good with stuff and he's taken care of me.. So I may do it here.. Plus he can hook me up on 3 + 1 Free BFG tire ;-) Dunno how they fell off the truck LMAO
Anyone know how to strength the step bars ? I really don't want someone to step on them and they bust off... I've tighten the crap out of the bolts.. Just worries me.. Not sure how strong they are.. I weight about 315 and they don't buckle on me.. But passenger one makes a funny squeak.. I've bounced on it and it hasnt snapped.. But course im only couple inches off the ground.. With this 4 1/2 you gonna be a LOT higher..
Also.. Any ideas on lower grab handles? I haven't seen a 4 1/2" up close so I dunno how it'll stand. .I dont want people having problems climbing in..
Well...it is still the same amount of weight being applied...just 4.5" higher off the ground. Have you thought about some AMP steps? 600lb weight limit. Best Mod you will ever make dude...just ask anyone who has them. If you call Marty back he can send them with your lift.

Dude, I'm telling you the AMPs... I could get in my old truck at 10.5" without using any hands. The platform is nice and wide...and swings down and out.

Jesus! For 1300 is better hold an elephant up.. I saw these on an F150 Lifted that I test drove one day.. If I wasn't throwing away 3g's on this lift I'd be ok.. I'll have to wait and recover from the lift then get these.. Least I know who makes them now.. I like the idea of fold aways..
Screw it.. If my steps now wont break with me bouncing on them then it'll be ok for the time being..
Storm I've got the 4.5" Donahoe and 35x12.5R20 Toyo M/Ts. My mom can reach the handle on the A pillar fine, she is only about 5'4". I would think anyone over 5' could reach it.
I got my lift and tires from Truck Toyz and they were great to deal with. I've been thinking about giving them a call about the DR dual steering stabalizer setup but haven't got around to it yet. Just way too many things on the shopping list right now, and a root canal a couple weeks ago has put a hurting on my funds
Don't go too high Storm, a tornado might blow you over easier . I think that the AMP steps are great, and I plan on doing them in the near future. Pricey, but worth it.
Well the lift happened now.. Its at my ford house getting it put in.. DR 4.5" Lift.. Leroy, the diesel tech there just called me and said he is working hard to get it done by end of day.. He started this morning at 7:30, he has had to take the front bumper, fenders, drop the axles.. He said this 4.5" lift is no joke to put in lol.. I did not realize they were that difficult.. Glad I didn't try to do it myself LOL
