Thanks! I do wish it was 6" but.. it's good enough that my little sis can still get in without too much help.. That was my biggest worry.. I am ordering the aftermarket wheels next week.. Those 35's are kinda tight on those stock wheels.. I need ot adjust the turn stops b/c at full lock she's rockin the leaf's pretty bad... Other then that it's pretty.. Only concern is single shock setup.. Wondering if I shoulda went dual shocks or not.
You don't need dual shocks dude unless you think the ride is too plush or something.
Ok.. Just concerned.. I do notice it vibrates and makes weird noises.. I guess its just the lift settling? I was told to bring it back in 500 miles to retorq the bolts.. First lift I've ever had..
They put the shim in that Marty sent but I noticed a bit of vibration around 60mph then disappears.. Marty told me if there was no shim i'd have driveline vibrations.. Again no clue what that feels like as I never had a lift before on a truck.. She feels good tho! i hopped some curbs with her to feel the suspension and she is nice and stout.. There are a few.. like pot holes sorta.. where the asphalt has curled up because of the sun.. before I would hit those and it would jar my truck, now when I run over them I don't even feel em.. Suspension is really smooth.. I'm very very impressed with Donahoe Racing..
I'm confused....why were the fender liners removed?
As for the carrier bearing shims....how many were put in??
Truck looks good.
Not sure why they removed the fender liners... I meant to call marty today to see how many shims he sent with the parts.. Shoulda just made the 8hr drive to McAllen and let ya'll put it on lol..
Now this is my first lift.. So i think I got the right part.. I just got under it and where the Carriage is (two shafts come together).. I counted 7 bars that they put in.. Is that right? It looked like they are small individual pieces because it had the crease.. Not sure if thats just how its made..
Yeah, the shim kit has a bunch of different shims in it and some new bolts and nuts. It's a standard kit that will work up to 8" or so of lift.
For a 4.5" I'd only shim it maybe 1" and see how it does.
The high speed (60mph) vibe could be from too much shim....and if I remember correctly, 7 shims would be in the 1.5-2" range.

Great.. Taking it back to them isn't an option.. Due to the fact they are 70 miles away.. Can I pull the shims or will I have to pull apart the drive shaft?
I don't recall off hand on the thickness of the shims.
Bust out the tape and see how tall that stack is that is in there.
You can swap the shims easily. You just have to remove the two bolts, lower the driveshaft and pull any excess shims and then retighten. Beware, the driveshaft isn't light.

I can tell you this much.. Based on my visual look.. I know its WELL over an inch lol... My worry is I have no torque wrench.. I imagine those truly need to be torque.. I have an appt in the morning but I'm considering skipping it and going to the ford house and having them reshim it...

I have spent part of the day researching suspension kits for my '07 F350 and this kit is at the top of the list. A couple questions:
- I intend to tow. Does it change the trucks rated tow and cargo capacity?
- Does it only lift the truck or does it also increase useable travel? If so, how much does the travel increase?
- There is already a 4" block under the rear axel of the '07 F350. is this replaced or eliminated with the kit? How much taller does this kit make the truck?
Thanks in advance for any information you may provide.
