tranny crossmember
i have a 78 f250 camper special with a 351m and a 4 speed tranny i just started work on it and fond they patched the tranny crossmemberwith a tar. does anyone know any place i could pick one up????

What do you mean "patched with tar"? If the cross-member has a flaw, any good welding shop should ba able to repair it. You could also get a cross-member from any large wrecking yard. Frame widths did not change until '79, so there should be a lot of choice. The only measurements I think you need to be concerned with are width and amound of "drop". Take a tape-measure and your cross-member along, and look for one just like it.
