I have a 1982 full size bronco with a 302 and c6. I found a 351w w\ c6 trans from a 2wd van. what i need to know is does the 4wd c6 and the 2wd c6 have the same output shaft?? I have been told that the big block c6 has different sized output shafts between the 2wd and 4wd. please help!
First, the 351W is a small block, not a big block. The 4WD tranny has a different housing on the tail shaft, but the shaft itself should be the same. With the shorter tail housing installed on the C6, this allows the output shaft to stick out far enough to enter the transfer case. It should just be a matter of swapping the tail housing.
