Glow Plug Problem

Ok heres the what it looks like.
1) I have replaced all 8 glow plugs
2) I have replaced the glow plug controller
3) I have replaced the soleniod that runs the glow plugs

This morining before i replaced the soleniod i went to start my truck so my sis could get out of the drive way. When i turned the key on the glow plugs did not go on (the day before i replaced all 8 plugs and a glow plug controller that was not even 4 months old but was toasted, it shorted out somewhere is what it looks like because the bottom was karoded). I turned it off and did it again. Still nothing. After I cranked it over for a while and got it started i let it sit for an hr. Then i replaced the soleniod that runs the glow plugs. It worked so I ran the truck for about 5 minutes shut it off and tried them again. It worked that time too..... Then i took my truck for a 20 min drive and when I got back i shut it off and turned the key on again. The glow plug light did not even come on.( Ussually it comes one for 2-3 secs before it shuts off when it senses the engine is warm) Now i think the soleniod is burnt out again.

1) Why would it suddenly do that?
2) Would it be related to the previous case of having the glow plug controller short out and fail on me?

Thanks in advance for the help...

First what brand of GPs did you install, there is a manual bypass that can be done to save GPs and get full gp operation each time........using a push button and a 5-10 second timing.

Do a test light check on the installed GPs to see if they are already burned out....

Disconnect the wire that powers the glow plug, then get a test light and connect one end to a 12v source (ie. positive battery post), and the other to the disconnected glow plug. If the GP is not burned out, than the tester should light up.
