2,900 square feet built 2001...last year's cost/kilowatt hour ranged from $ 0.11 to $ 0.135. Highest summer bill was $ 475.00 with a programmed thermostat and generally not set lower than 74 F....Winter lowest was about $ 145.00
ok, I see all of these are all over the board. This is very comparable to my bills. The age/size is about the same as well. I have a two story, but the second story is 'unfinished', so my living space/heated/AC space is all downstairs. It is all electric as well. All of the appliances are 'new', they came with the house, they are kenmore elite appliances, which i assume are energy start compliant. The AC is a heat pump (don't ask, i didnt install it), system is zoned, programmable t-stats kept on 74-78 in the summer (95-110*). Ihave three on demand hot water heaters, not sure if they save as much as i think they should. The cielings are 9.75', which may contribute to the heating/ac costs.

True but one has to compare house size and the things that consume energy, Insulation factor,Type of windows and climate as well.

Some People haven't been listing this important stuff.
