water pump
Water pump gave up the ghost last night. Called around. Prices run from $149.99 to 320.00 for a new. Autozone had the lowest to the dealer being the highest. What's the difference? Is there a better aftermarket? What about International? Will their's fit/work? I know some parts are the same between Ford and International. 133k on truck.

If I remember right the international one is different. I think it was O-Reilley's that had the one piece intake and alot of people like it. Myself i went with Carquest and have had no problem. I would replace the thermosat and thermostat housing at the same time, they are usually bad. Dieselsite sells the 203 thermosat and billet housing which peope say work really good. It is what I am going to as soon as the weather turns nice. If I had to do mine over again, I would replace the green coolant and use an ELC coolant like Rotella. Then you don't have to worry about adding any SCA to it. One other thing some Ford books have the wrong torque for the mounting bolts. It should be 18lbs/ft of torque.

The one from International for the T444e has a coolant filter flange built into it. But those filters are mounted sideways, if I recall, and would be a mess to change.
I wouldn't get one from them.
