I have searched very hard on this issue. I have a 2004 f150 supercrew.
I noticed a whistle noise while giving it some gas. I thought it was coming from all of the plastic intake pieces. So I went out and bought the K&N 77 series intake. I still here the same noise! After reading all of these post about this,I am still confused. Some people say they will get back with the outcome and I can never find them. Any help would be great!
You will need to ask your question in the tech forums since this one is used for introductions. Go ahead and post it in the 04-07 forum and I'm sure you will get a response.
Be sure and check out your state chapter, there is a lot of support and activity there also.
It is defineatly not the seals around the doors. Not to sure on how to check the intake manifold, but it happens when you give it some gas from the pedal. If you really step on it, it cannot be heard. Only just applying alittle gas and just regular crusing. like trying to hold 35 to 40 mph.
This throttle body stuff is new to me. I am used to seeing old carbs.
Did you buy the truck new? If not you might want to look to see if someone installed one of those throttle spacers on it. I have seen several posts about them causing a whistle noise while giving it gas. Hope this helps.
Try posting this in the 04-07 F150 forum. Those guys are usually alot of help with these things.
gcozmo, thanks for the reply. I did not buy it new. I did look closer under the hood and I do see a red spacer. I am going to take that off as soon as the weather is permitting. I will let you know whta happens.
