Good day to all. This is my first time on this site.
I have a 1993 Ford F-150 5.0. 4X4, I use this just to pull a small boat. The gas mileage is about the worst of any vehicle I have ever owned. 10.5 overall, and light on the pedals.
Everything changed (oil, plugs, gas filter, air filter, cleaned throttle body etc).
Would a throttle body spacer and low restriction exhaust with no catalytic help significantly?
You will want to checkout our tech forums since that is where you can get the answers you are looking for. Click on the Forums tab at the upper left and scroll over the list. I suggest trying out the 87-96 forum: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/forum28/ There is also a forum for your engine. I don't think the mods you are suggesting will do much for your gas mileage.
IMHO a throttle body spacer, larger exhaust and catless would make your economy issues worse. What may help is OEM plugs and wires and a complete tuneup.
