Another fuel pump problem, need help

1987,F250, 5.0 with dual tanks. Not getting power to the electric high press. pump. No power at the inertia switch.
There is power at the fuel pump relay. (replaced)
Is there a wiring diagram available?

Note that the fuel pumps only will run with the engine cranking or running other than for one second when you first turn on the key.

The EEC computer must receive a pulse train from the Ignition system to turn on the fuel pumps other than the one-second initially.

There is two sensers for the pumps mounted on fender well, my 89 had duel tanks and thats what went wrong, there was power to the pump but the senser completes the circuit, two minutes to change it, 10 hours to find it....

What in the world are you talking about?
Do you mean the EEC Power relay and the Fuel Pump relay?
Let’s not confuse Larry M.

Hey guys, thanks for all the help. Problem solved. It was a relay.

Point of interest for the future; This truck has three relays side by side. In color they are gray, green and brown. One is for the electric fuel pump, the brown one and last replaced. I believe the gray one is for the EEC. Not sure about the green one.

Bill K you are the man. Many thanks.

The green one is the fuel pump relay.

Any idea what the brown one is controlling?

As soon as I replaced the brown relay the fuel pump came on.

The brown one is for the EEC power. Have to have power to it so it can power the fuel pump.

Thanks for the information.

One last question regarding the relays. As I understand it the green one is for the fuel pump, the brown one for the EEC. How about the gray one. What does it control?
