New to the ford part interchangeability cans and cannots, my question is will a dana 60 from a 3/4 ton ford bolt up to the half ton spring perches without any mods like welding and cutting on the 73-79 model year of course are the perches spaced the same distance apart

 

yes the 60 will bolt in, but you will need to shorten your driveshaft

 

As long as neither truck is a "highboy" you should be fine, width wise. A shortened driveshaft also.

2 or 4 wheel drive? you have to have the same gear if it,s 4 wd. alan

 

4wheel drive yes and of course it would have to be the same gear if you were to drop it right in but those gears could be changed to match if thats what you meant thanks again

 

ya thats what i ment. my friend had that done on a 1/2 ton and it never was right, the shop that swaped the rear out just did not know what they were doing and the front was coil spring and the front dana he had of course would not fit. alan
