From front to back:
front driveshaft;
manual trans crossmember, crossmember brackets;
clutch disk, flywheel, pressure plate, clutch master cylinder w/ hydraulic line, trans shifter lever w/ boot, tranny mount, dust cover;
clutch/brake pedal assembly, transfer case shifter, starter motor;
ZF transmission, trans tunnel cover.
^The block plate that goes between the engine and transmisson is in the center right leaning against the wall. I think that is what you labeled the dust cover?
Yes, we call those "dust covers." Probably a regional difference in terminology. A google search for "dust cover" ford transmission comes up with 18,100 hits and "block plate" ford transmission comes up with 821.
The transmission length and wheelbase must both be taken into account when looking for a proper length driveshaft. The ZF is shorter than the E4OD that was in my truck so my rear d/s had to be lengthened and the front shaft shortened. It will also vary with 2 and 4wd.
Instead of shortening or lengthining driveshafts, take the ones from a donor truck out of a junkyard and bolt them in.
Sometimes it's difficult to find a certain wheelbase (like a crewcab), but for the most part a little hunting and you can find the right parts you need.
Shortening or lengthening typically costs more, but shops that do this also balance the driveshafts which is never a bad thing.
