newbie question.... hehe
it also came with all sorts of sway bars. in the glove box i found the original window sticker from the dealer and it was an option. i have roughly $600 in it. did i get a good deal??
i have read thru a whole bunch of postings and didnt see anything remotely related. if this has been discussed before, sorry to waste your time.

Excellent Find.
I was at the wreckers yesterday and on our way home my wife needed something to eat and drink.
I pulled into the lot with a Dairy Queen for a couple of Burgers and what Jumped out in front of us , A 78 Bronco freshly painted and in Pristine shape.
I had to stop and look, plus talk to the Guy
One of the first things I noticed was the Dual Shocks on each side
Once the film is developed I'll post a Photo of this GEM.
His Name is Chris & I told him about this site,he said he'll have a look someday soon.
Watch for it.

you prob have the opt. handling package w/quad shocks up front and rear stab bar. It's shown in text on page 3 of the brochure.
We had a 78 351M/4 speed, 4" Rancho lift, custom driveshaft and the sport steering wheel; it ran everyday till we sold it in Dec 2000; think it's still running.

I remember those 78 Bronco flyers, god how I wanted one when Ford offered the 'offroad' package right off the show room floor! Just didn't work out at the time, I think we were into station wagons and vans, raising kids, at the time.
Now we have an 89 (got it in Jan 02) with all the same goodies, plus some improvements and really love it - and for cheap too!
I put new Monroe 'Reflex' shocks all-around (4 up front, 2 in back) along with some new BFG AT's and it handles just great. The reflex's ain't cheap - paid $40 each, but they do the job in the boonies...a bit on the 'firm' side back home on the street, though.
I'm not too excited about that rear sway bar hangin' down so low, though - I just know I'm going to 'whack' it with a big old rock and have to get out the big hammer to beat the brackets back into shape! Time will tell.
