Kooky whitebread covers a trendy R&B tune and completely strips it of any soul it may have once had...hmmm...Visions of Pat Boone slaughtering "Tootie Fruity" come to mind. Just my $.02

I liked it. The Black Eyed Peas version wanted to make me stick hot pokers in my ears. This was much more pleasurable.

That actually had me cracking up. I can't stand that song. I'm sure there'll be a Weird Al cover coming soon...
It seems like an insult to compare pop dance crap like that to R&B, but that seems to be the case with most popular music nowadays. I can't stand the new pop country garbage either, or the sad excuses for metal or punk or just about any genre nowadays. I just listen to the old stuff, and the few and far between good groups that will never make it on the radio or the Mtv. Just my little rant...

Amen, that song and almost every other new song coming out nowadays is just another turd on the pile...

and (at least to me) its not even a generational thing (only 31), everybody i pretty much knows hates about everything that has come out in the last few years.

it seems to me the only thing propping the music industry up is a bunch of 16 year olds (either physically 16 or mentally) and thier dumb parents that buy them the stuff.

back on the topic now......what ever it was!

When I first saw this post, I thought it said "Morrisey covered Black Eyed Peas". THAT would've been really scary, watching some whiny goth guy singing that garbage... (well, opposed to him singing his own garbage)

I think miss Stacy Ann Ferguson is about as whitebread as they come.

Besides, this is clearly a parody, and a pretty funny one at that. Slowing it down helps reveal how inane the lyrics really are.

When I first watched it I knew it was a parody too, so I started looking around for info on it. One thing I read said Morisette did it to show how inane and trashy lyrics are, and that people will listen to anything. And it seams that the trashier the lyrics the more people like it.

I agree, and that's a pretty moronic song. I think she had another reason to cover that particular song though. She's a kooky, foaming-at-the-mouth feminist, and what better song to make fun of if you're a feminist than a song promoting female promiscuity?
