08 F-250 Stabilizer Package Option

I placed an order for an 08 F-250 on Feb. 15th and still no build date. Dealer said that it would be in before May, but has now backed off that date.

I am now looking for a truck that is already on a lot, and I have found one very close to the truck I ordered, but it does not have the Stabilizer Package, which the dealer says I need because I will be pulling a 7K Lbs. travel trailer. BTW - within a year, I will be upgrading to a 9K Lbs. fifth wheel.

The Question

What does the Stabilizer Package do? With a 7K Lbs. trailer, will it make a difference pulling? What about a 9K Lbs. fifth wheel? Does it affect resale value?

The stabilizer package is geared more toward slide in campers and their higher center of gravity. I added the rear sway bar to my SD from the stabilizer pkg and enjoy the tighter handling feel, but it is not necessary for towing. The stabilizer package also includes heavy service front springs, that IMHO ruin the ride quality of the coil spring front axle. (Unless you load the front with a winch, heavy bumper, or similar).

I believe the stabilizer package is just that. But the camper package gives you both a heavier front springs and the stabilizer bar. That is the way I read the order sheet when I ordered.

Stab Pkg - Package includes heavy service front springs, rear stabilizer bar

Camp Pkg - Package includes extra heavy service front springs on 4x2 (2-up upgrade above the spring computer selected as a consequence of options chosen; not included if maximum springs have been computer-selected as standard equipment), heavy service front springs on 4x4 (1-up upgrade above the spring computer selected as a consequence of options chosen; not included if maximum springs have been computer- selected as standard equipment), rear stabilizer bar (SRW), slide-in camper certification, auxiliary rear springs

Sorry for the huge paste, but this is Ford's wording exactly for the 08's.
