Topics Other Than Ford

How do you guys feel about messages with topics other than Ford. One way or another most of us got here because we drive a Ford...but I assume that most of us have other interests as well.

Do you think that the chapter should be used exclusively for topics relating to Ford Trucks?

Seems to me by the posts and pm's I get 95% of the people like what I do. And as long as I stay within the guidelines I believe I should post things to make it fun here. All of us love Ford trucks but not all of us are mechanics or roughnecks so we have different interests. I was told by an Admin. that this is a family forum... not everyone in a family has the same interests. At least we all have one common interest and that's Ford Trucks. And I've been reading my threads post counts. The numbers don't lie.

hum.... interesting thought you have John.

Now let an adult talk.

I see that a good percentage of the posts are not FORD related. i am ok with that. Right now a bunch of the threads do not interest me so I just don't post to them> I read them though, well more skimming than reading.

IMHO

When you find one let me know partner

No that sounded wrong. It's just that I read all the Ford posts and try to learn, but I didn't grow up a mechanic or anything like alot of you guys. But I love this chapter and I never have anything to contribute because I can't help fix trucks and I don't know what the best year a Ford is and it's frustrating.

It looks like 'all topics' when I voted!...I love Ford, but we are here to have fun, which includes 'All Topics'!.

Being PC, we do have to go along with the guidlines that FTE set!!!...FTE established a great place for us to have fun!

I have no issue with non-Ford topics. That's encouraged here, in General Conversation, General Automotive, Garage and Workshop, and the club. Actually, all tech stuff is supposed to be kept out of the non-specific forums, but sometimes things are let to slide a little.............
John, as long I'm not getting PM'ed to tighten your leash, I'm set with what you have to post. You are doing a good job of getting activity going, keep up the good work.

"..Within FTE guidelines" should do it. Another choice could be:

ºKeep Ford threads on topic; Chatter threads have fun.

Everyone here ought to know by now what posts are Ok in a public, family forum. If ya' don't then read the rules or take off.

I'll use John's signature quote:
"Thinking is the hardest work there is, which is probably the reason why so few engage in it."-Henry Ford

its a Washington Forum, if we soley talked about Fords we'd never get to know each other, and that is what they want, to meet people in your area. If you dont like a topic dont post, just skip it. i dont think anyone has a problem with other topcs

Oneminizut is 31, he learns something new every day. Keeping on topic is the hardest thing for me to do... But I promise I'll try harder!

Heck no, I was trying to appease the higher management. I continue doing what I do best until I get shut down. The only difference now is that I follow FTE guidlines. Other than that, everyones fair game!!!!
