Acouple weeks ago I gave my 16 yr old son my 95 F-150, 302 with aode. He lunched the moyor and possibly trans ( cN'T CHECK TRANS UNLESS MOTOR IS RUNNING GOD.). i HAVE A GREAT DEAL ON 302 ENGINE AND AUTOMATIC , MY QUESTION IS THE TRANS the same ?
trans are different. from 89 aod . yours has probably has e4od . The 89 motor will work but is not a roller and cam is little different And firing order is different (easy fix) . You being 96 has OBD II I don't know if or what problems the difference may make . But it will run. Find a 94 up motor every thing will /should go with out hitch .
I didn't see the year - but the title says 96 and the post says 95.
A 95 302 is likely going to be in front of a 4R70W, which will not work in place of an AOD without also swapping the computer. The computer from the 89 won't work if the 95 is mass air.
I'm very confused. What about an 85? Can you start all over and explain in detail what you're doing so that we can help you? I would hate to misunderstand you and give you bad advice.
Just a quick question, I hate to hijack the thread but... If the 4R70W was being put in after 93, where does the E4OD come into play? Were there two automatics being put into these trucks? Why?? I know this might be kind of a dumb question but I've never fully understood this...
I have a 95 F-150, blown motor. Possibly trans also (AODE). I found engine and trans out of 89, just want to put engine and trans into my 95.
The 1995 had SEFI - Sequential Electronic Fuel Injection or one injector to fire at a time. The 89 had MFI - Multiport Fuel Injection or bank firing of four injectors at a time.
You would need the wiring and computer from 88 put in the 95.
Other wire splicing would also need to be done but it could be done.
