Just a quick question, I hate to hijack the thread but... If the 4R70W was being put in after 93, where does the E4OD come into play? Were there two automatics being put into these trucks? Why?? I know this might be kind of a dumb question but I've never fully understood this...

The E4OD is an electronically controlled C6 and was used on the bigger stuff, 5.8 and up.
The smaller ones used the AOD and later the 4R70W and is an electronically controlled version of the AOD.
Yes they were used in the same years.
just a side note, the planetary gears from an e40d will fit in a c6, i made this conversion on my old 78, replaced the 1st and 2nd gear in my c6 to that of an e4od, not only did i get a lower gearing, but the housing for the gears is aluminum on the c6 and steel on the e4od, so they were also stronger. it wasn't a cheap upgrade, but it was a great mod.
ok to use the 89 engine in the 95, the intakes are the same, but you need to swap cams to somethign that will work with the 351 firing order there might be some sensor changes, but for the most part it will be a direct swap, and my money is that the trans you will have to fix what you have. the cams, the 91 use a roller you will need to find a comparable cam to use . that 89 block MAY have the bosses and the right lifter bores for te roller cam, you would have to drill the bosses for the spyder if it is
when I bought the trans filter kit at Advance it is kit number Fk-251 which is for A4EOd, also has metric stamped in pan. Back to engine - it won't be just abolt in - plug-in right?

The FK-251 is for a 4R70W (AODE) transmission.
I take it that is what you have behind the 302.
The firing order is controlled by the cam he will have to leave the wire set up for old order and swap wire in sequeltial injection harnes. And before I get rgged on my cousins race stangs and we have had to do this . The engine will run but not right untill swap.
'93 was the last year for that firing order and the AOD actually late year production '92. E4od were used in '94 and I think up to '97 that is the year ford uglied up the F-150 and changed engine and tranny combos all around
