Hi Folks
I have a 1997 v6 f150 with a new motor and trans, I turned the key the other day and all it did was make 1 single click noise from the main fuse on the passenger side fire wall, i charged the battery and checked all the fuses and the starter never gave any indication it was going out I checked all the connections to the starter its like no power getting to it though, is there a starter relay some where i can check what should i check next ?
I would make sure all the connections are clean and tight at the battery. I would also check for corrosion at the wire going to the starter. Have you driven through water with it?

tap on the starter with a hammer, then try to start. or if you really want use a volt meter and measure the voltage at the positve starter terminal to the positive battery terminal, the voltage difference should be very little, say less than .5V, this would rule out a bad cable. If you still arent starting take the volt meter to the starter solenoid to the neg battery terminal, in crank you should see 12V. If all those checks are fine replace the starter.
