I am in very serious debate over swapping my 302 in for a 351W.
I have a 1984 Bronco (4x4) will a 351W go into my truck? that is will everything bolt up? and what will not bolt up as far as tranny?,headers??????ETC?Please be very specific on what will not work. I have heard that headers will not because of deck height is this true and what ever else you care to share ANY HELP WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!!!!!!!!!!.By the way both are carb.
The 351w uses the same mounts and bellhousing bolt pattern as a 302. The oil pan should be a rear sump from a van or pickup. 302 pan won't fit. 302 headers might fit with minor modifications. Accessory brackets are different.
Thanks for thr fast reply but not to be an *** but could you be a little more specific about what will NOT work from the 302 setup to the 351W setup as far as mounting it and such. I do understand the part about the oil pan and accessories, but please be specific on what accessory brackets and so on. I will be using a Edelbrock 1406 Carb with electric choke and a Edelbrock Intake (Non EGR), and again, not real sure about the header setup some say because of the deck height of the 351W the 302 headers will not work.
