Actually, RTV will adhere to aluminum, but there's a good reason not to use it there.
RTV cures in one of two ways. Either it absorbs moisture from the air to cure, or it outgasses acetic acid to cure.
The first is the kind used around electronics (copper) and aluminum. It has very little smell to it. Dow Corning 3140 to 3145 were good examples.
The second is the more common stuff, that smells a little like vinegar. That's the stuff with acetic acid. The acid is extremely reactive to both copper and aluminum, and will more corrode than adhere. However, it works pretty good as gasket sealer if using it steel-to-steel, like an OEM differential cover, but won't withstand a lot of "solvents". Gasoline could be considered one of them. Most off-the-shelf RTV's today are this second kind.

well, i just got through H2E turbo install, and after i button up everything, ill try to fire the truck, and noticed a puddle of oil on passrnger side, its a damn turbo pedestal O rings leaking, they must have moved when i put the mounting plate, what a disaster, now i have to remove everything again,
make sure your O rings didnt move like mine,

Well, today we triggered the EBPV which is new and it leaked. Under warranty, we got a new pedestal. Now to clean it up and see if it works. So far, when we trigger the EBPV, it doesn't leak. Time will tell.
Guess that just because the pedestal is new doesn't mean it works.
