Please read and heed....

FTE is a Family Friendly web site. Do not post mean-spirited, badgering, foul language, sexually explicit, racial epithets, derogatory or defamatory content, in any form.
Personal attacks of any kind need to disappear completely in our form now. I`m not sure what can be done without a ban if personal attacks continue, we need everyone`s cooperation immediately.
We really need to find peace and harmony as this is becoming too disruptive for the forum.
Althougt it seem to hard turn the other cheek occationally it is needed for the good of this forum.
Your constructive thoughts?

Thank you, Morris. I appreciate and welcome your position on posts with personal attacks. I'm certain I am not the only one who does. It really does wreck a day when personal attacks happen.

I would suggest using PM's to issue warnings to any offenders, then ban them. I suggest the PM's because airing complaints or requests for more civility within the threads in the past has proved counterproductive, usually inspiring others to pile on and join in the frey.

Thanks again.

I know that sometimes there is a fine line between good natured ribbing and a derogatory comment, add to that the inability of the written word to fully convey sarcasm, or a friendly smile and things can get misinterpreted fairly easy.

I like Randy's suggestion of a "firm talking to" via PM's before going to the extremes of a full out ban. We all slip up from time to time and sometimes just need a slap on the wrist to get back in line.

You're doing a great job Morris, thanks
Bobby

If you're getting mad at someone on this site, you're really in need of some professional couch help. Which that's funny because everyone on this site is so helpful toward everyone. I'm guessing opinions clash at times. Everyone has an opinion - they're allowed. If you don't like someone's opinion, oh well - let it go. We're allowed to disagree. We don't need forum rage - save it for the road : ) - kidding!!! I say (and it's just my little opinion) warn them and boot them if they keep it up. I'm sorry the moderators have to deal with such non-sense.

I agree 100%. If we have a difference of opinion, present the facts and where they can be found. Otherwise don't stir the pot. Treat others with respect. I can see that sometimes the joking goes a bit to far. Keep it clean and treat FTE like a business tool. The site provides a great service and we don't want to lose it. Have a great day, chuck

I agree with Randy, go straight to the source of the problem let them know what their choices are and if they persist ban them.

Is this a problem within the 48 - 60 group or is all across FTE as a whole? It sure seems that everyone here gets along great.

Send them a PM telling them to straighten up or get out....

Gosh, I have missed something I guess. I am unaware of those types of comments. I do agree they have no place on this site, or any others. I see them on other sites, I don't here. In fact I am guessing that anyone posting such comments would get highly chastised by others on this great site. Joe

I haven't caught many of those sort of comments/exchanges but I do tend to miss some things. I value this forum and most of its members very highly because it is generally good-natured and Fomoko1 does such a great and supportive job as moderator.

Morris, do whatever you need to do to keep us on track and thanks for your consistent and constructive care of our corner of FTE.

Glad you stepped into this, had been lurking thru those posts, and wondered when somebody would take it on. Thanks
I agree with everyone here, sometimes things get out of hand especially when our passion is so high for these old trucks, and I'm sure if all the parties were face to face it would just be joking and raggin each other, but somehow the written word takes on a "sinister" role that I'm sure nobody wants.

Thank you everyone, it makes for a real nice feeling to know how you all feel, that we`re part of a real big family here.
I feel that jimhackney hit the nail on the head with this: the written word takes on a "sinister" role that I'm sure nobody wants.
Sometimes going to the source works and when it doesn`t (possibly because of improper explaination on my part) it has to end up here.
Please keep your thoughs coming, it IS appreciated very much. You all are what makes this forum so great.

One thing I have found very helpful is when you finish typing your post, try to read it with an open mind. I know this is hard if your feathers are already ruffled but read it through and think about it and if it sounds hateful or negative, it probably is.

Also try not to take things that you read very personal. Ihave read a few things that I thought were kinda negative but after I thought about it I decided it was either someone elses opinion or that may just be the way they know how to express or explain things.

I must have missed something earlier today? Bobbytnm's comments make good sense to me, as well as everyone elses. I would just like to see us all reach our goals at getting our trucks to where we each want them.
