A really poor design? I think so.
I went to check my airfilter and thought i would pull it out to see how it was looking to see how it looks. The filter minder gauge has'nt moved none sence i bought the truck. Well to my surprise this is no normal airfilter housing. You dont just pop the clamps and pull it out. Its more like pop the clamps then start the wrestling match. I think it won. I wonder what the concept was on this design. That designer needs to rethink this one. Of corse this is just the opinion of one simple man.

Did you try looking at the Ford maintenence video that shows a tech pulling it out? You have to disconnect some other stuff to get the wiggle room.

exiled, i know how u feel. im a state certified mechanic and it had me wrestling and cursing for about 15 minutes. then i went to my trusty FTE and found a video that shows u a shortcut and now i can do it in about 5!

npccpartsman I'm not 2nd guessing the filteration properties of the system. The design in the changeablity {or there the lack of} is really really poor. In my struggle i came up with a dozen or so alturnatives. But then i think i came up with 2 dozen or so new curse words.
