Dead Accelerator Pedal

Until last night my 2004 PSD with 48k miles has run perfectly. No performance mods. Truck was fully warmed up. Reversed out of my driveway, put the truck in Drive and it continued to idle as I stepped on the Go pedal. I shifted thru all the gears, nothing but idle. I shut the engine off, restarted and all was well. Any ideas? Should I take it in or does this sound like a fluke? I haven't checked for any codes yet, I'll do that today and report back.

check the pedal on the floor for any loose wires also check fuses...not 100% on the elec system but the pedal is just a potentiometer (sp?) and input and output can obviously be read with a voltmeter to verify if it is in fact dead.

I experienced this dead pedal feeling once, My dealer changed my EGR and it hasnt done it since, I think they flashed it at the same time, so I dont know if the flash or the EGR cured it.

I'm guessing the flash is what did it, The EGR might affect performance but shouldn't cause dead pedal. By the way, my EGR has been disabled since day 1.
