Alright, so I got the Bestkits wiring harness set and it's EXACTLY what I needed. Just have a few questions about left over wires after I matched up what made sense:
Not used from the deck:
BLUE - "Amp relay"
From Escape (all on the secondary 8-pin connector):
BLUE/WHITE - "Amp Turn On"
BLACK/WHITE - "Amp Ground"
GREY - "Right Front Positive"
GREY/WHITE = "Right Front Negative"
(Those two labeled Right Front are a SECOND set of them.)
So I guess the BLUE from the deck can go to the BLUE/WHITE to turn on the Amp. Should I assume that the second set of Right Front's are what feeds the sub (the sub is the factory one on the right rear)? Do I add those into the other Right Front connections? And last but not least, that Amp Ground... can that go into the main BLACK ground wire along with the chassis ground?
Well I put an aftermarket radio in mine today and that 3 plug deal from wally world will work for you. My radio only had one plug in the rear and I wired it up everything worked correct. It costed 21.00 dollars to get the whole kit.
Scosche Mounting Kit# FD1280A
Scosche Wiring Kit# FDK106
I hope this will help you Thanks JOE

Hey Joe. Those are the exact two I got from Walmart. The mounting kit is fine, but I took the wiring harness back. My Escape has the premium Mach system and that FDK106 kit doesn't have the proper hookup for the subwoofer connections. I found some better info when searching last night. I should be using either this:
The Bestkits one I got from a local store is ALMOST right except it would give me speaker level input to the amp when the two above use the sub output from the aftermarket deck. I'm gonna wire up the kit I've got to use the sub output from my deck and see how that goes. If it doesn't sound right, I'll wire it up to the right front +/- as the kit shows.
So the guys at Bestkits confirmed that the "amplifier ground" connections coming from the Escape should all go to the common "ground" black wire on my aftermarket deck. I hooked the two sub leads to the sub pre-amp on the deck and hooked it up. Wow does it sound like crap! I know the deck is good cuz I've got an identical unit in my Toyota. The subwoofer makes a loud pop whenever it's turned on/off and it pumps way too hard. If I turn the bass on the deck all the way down, then the speakers all sound like crap but the subwoofer sounds half decent.
I've gone back to the factory deck for now cuz I don't know if I can live with the sound. Do some aftermarket decks have control over sub level? Thinking something like that might help.
