'05 Excursion's????

I'm looking at a couple of '05 Excursions both are limited models. I was wondering do all Limited models come fully loaded option wise? I have to travel a pretty decent distance to get either one. But one does have about 23,000 miles less on it but is 2hr's farther away.

Pretty much. There still options like DVD that aren't standard.

I shopped for a new '05 so to add to what Monsta said.....I would say that hey are all the same except for option such as: rear dvd (as Monsta said) and 2nd row captains chairs vs bench...those plus the obvious engine, 4x4, 4x2.....

4 X 2 options:
PSD, Limited-slip rear end, 2nd row captain's chairs, Cargo package-rear cargo mat, Rear seat DVD, tow mirrors.

4 X 4 options:
18" forged alum wheels, skid plate, chrome running boards.

Everything else was standard.

Ok thanks for all the answer's, i wasn't sure if the info from autotrader was correct or not. With that being said i am curious.

Excursion #1 V10 4x4 Limited (6hr drive one way to get) - Roughly 33k on it. Have done a carfax report on it. Nothing comes back odd or messed up. Still has roughly 2600 miles left on warranty. What should i look for/ask or checking?

Excursion #2 V10 4x4 Limited (4hr drive one way to get) - Roughly 56k on it. Done a carfax report on it come's back fine. What should i look for/ask or checking?

Can a person get extended warranties on either of?

As you can see i have to drive a decent distance to buy either one in my price range. Plz don't turn this into a diesel/gasser debate i've made up my mind on engine size and i've seen to many of these topics turned into such debates. I'm just trying to make the best possible choice before i make the drive.

I would bet the first one is a rental car turn in or possibly a lease turn in. It is probably your best bet. Factory warranty remaining means you can get the far superior (but a bit more $$) Ford Extended Service Plan if you decide to opt for it.

Is it the color combo you want?

What should be asked, you ask? I guess you should probably get a list of factory options that are on it and any aftermarket things installed.

What's the price difference between the two?

Well the one with higher millage was 25,900, but when i called to see if he still had it and i told him i had other's i was looking at he instantly said he could easly get it for me for 23,500. The one with 33k is 24,000 and some change.

Both at one time were rentals according to Carfax.

I would rather have black but i can't seem to find a black X with in reason and since eventually i'll get an F250 or 350. This is consider'd my wife's kid hauler. And she doesn't care about color so i guess neither do i LOL.

What are you driving up? Maybe you can take up a U-haul car carrier. You know, the kind that lifts the drive wheels off the ground and allows you to tow it. That way you can drag it back with your new Excursion! Although it may be just as easy to do a one way rental and get one up north.

Good luck! Sounds like a nice truck so far.

Remember .... you're doing the dealer a favor by traveling 6hrs to look at his truck. Take that into consideration when you're writing up the deal. Tell them to give you $$ off.

On extended warranties..... I'd say just save the money. You can take that money and put it into an account and earn interest on it and it'll cover whatever might break. If nothing does you're not out thousands of dollars.

Checked in on a one way rental, way to much, they said they'd have to get it tow'd back. And yes, i told the sales rep i talked to that, i'm expecting a nice incentive for driving 6hr's and taking a vehicle that's been sitting awhile. The 2 that i've talked about i've kinda been watching a bit.

sounds like you got it under control then.... Good luck with the negotiation. Dealers know the Excursion buyer is a nitch market buyer. They can't just sell these to anyone.

Post up some pics when you get it back.

Not sure if you are on the road or not...

My only suggestion that may make my choice between the two trucks is if one had 4.30's stock from the factory and one with 3.73's. Having just spent $1548 to upgrade my gears...having one factory installed would have saved a bit of disassembly...

I tow a 9000#+ TT and the 4.30's are IMO a requirement for me...hence the swap on my V10 Ex...
