Autolite plugs

Is there much difference between the AP 103 plugs and APP 103 plugs?

Sounds like you'll have to stop more with the one with double the P....or carry some empty bottles with you. okay..seriously.

AP designates the Platinum Spark Plug which has a platinum tip center electrode. APP designates the Double Platinum Spark Plug which has a platinum tip center electrode and side wire. From their website.

So I guess that the AP103 are just as good as the stock plugs that came with my truck in 2000.

If you are putting these in the V10, don't. I made that mistake last year and pulled them a couple weeks later and replaced them with Motorcraft. $40 mistake.

Autolite makes Motocraft plugs side by side.

And Pennzoil makes Super Tech...

I replaced all 10 plugs with Autolite Double Platinums and it ran so bad my wife commented on it. The Autolite's were my choice because of similar information gathered here and I like going to my local Ford dealer as much as going to the dentist. Pulled the Autolite's and replaced with 10 Motorcraft and it was like driving a new truck.

They're talking about the electrode.

In a "regular" platinum plug, just the tip (the part sticking out from the insulator) is platinum.

In a "double platinum" both sides are tipped with platinum.

Ah Ha! Fuuny how some things are named. I wouldn't with today's vernacular describe that part as a "wire". Maybe a "post" or something.

Are the regular platinum plug the same as the stock plug that came with my 2000 truck. The stock ones have served me fine for 62K so why should I change

RV,
The plugs that came in your engine were not plated (or coated) like the newer plugs are. Only difference that I know of.
