what are your opinions about them. i have heard people can tell a world of difference and i have heard people say they felt nothing. anyone notice increased fuel efficiency?
i am looking at one online made by Street Performance and they claim increase in 3 mpg and 8 hp and 10 lbs of torque for $96. what do you think?
Waste of money. 3 MPG? No way in heck are you going to gain 30% in MPG with a spacer. Second of all, in a 7,000 pound truck you will no way no how feel 8HP. Either get a new throttle body with 62 or 65MM opening or get a chip or tuner. Either will run about $350 and you will feel a difference. If you only could do one, get a tuner/chip.
well i already have superchips power programmer, kn intake and magnaflow exhaust, the 3 mpg increase is what caught my eye, it sounded to good to be true and probably is, but the theory of a spacer makes a little sense.
I had a spacer on my 97 F-150 w/5.4. It made a cool whistle kinda like a turbo- but no change. You gotta figure with an injection engine, there's not much you can do to the fuel air mixture in the cylinder, except maybe smooth it out a bit with a FIPK. These things are junk (but sound cool LOL)
If you have CARBS than a spacer is ok as it allows the air more time to mix with the fuel, and that can be an advantage depending on the carb type and overall engine/carb design.
