I am now the owner of a set of Ford Motor Company service manuals for the 1995 F-150, F-250, F-350, Bronco and F-Super Duty trucks. They are the "Powertrain, Drivetrain" and the "Body-Chassis" books. I just happened to notice them when I was dropping off some yard trash at one of our satellite dump sites here in our county.
My main question is: "how much of the information can I use when working on my 1996 Eddie Bauer Bronco"? Most of it seems applicable but I'm just not sure enough. I have been helped by "honney" on the differences between ODB-I and ODB-II,the ECM and MAF vs SD but these manuals talk about most of this also. The reason I'm nervous about using these to work from is that most of the aftermarket products and add-on's stop at the 1995 and don't include 1996.
If ya'll convince me not to use these books I'll have them for sale real cheap soon.
Well, I have 2 Broncos, one 90 and one 91. I have a full set of shop manuals for my 90 and am currently looking for 91s.
So to know if there is any big difference, I did browse through the 90's to see if there is anything apparently different from my 91. I did not find anything. So I use the 90 manuals also for the 91.
A lot of parts are anyway the same for the model series (in my case its the 89-91). So I think it will be the same for the series 92-96. From knowing the Bronco history there where some changes 94 but not real big ones in 95&96.
There might be some small discrepancies as slightly changes may have occured from one year to the other, but for what I am working on those cars I always found what I was looking for.
I believe that the largest differences between the '95 and '96 are going to be in the engine breathing. Mine is a MAF - which I believe is true of all '96's) whereas the previous models were somewhat mixed up.
I'll probably end up keeping the manuals because there is a lot more information in them that I could/will use.
I have a set of all the factory manuals on CD, and find them well worth the money. I believe the only real difference between a '95 and '96 would be the OBD-II engine management system. Other than that, everything else should be the same.

Where did you manage to pick that up? I've been looking for manuals for an 86 Bronco. Also need an 85 Bronco set now.
I started with both the Chiltons big manual and a Haynes manual. Both are okay for general maintenance, but don't compare to the detail of the factory manuals.
I purchased the CD set from Ebay. The one disk covers 93 & 94 model trucks, and you can find them by doing a search on Ford CD. I am not sure hold old the CD's go, but I found them from at least '93 model years. Beware, there are many people selling copies of the CD's on Ebay. I don't support that, so I only purchase from people who can verify they are selling original CD's.
I wouldn't put much faith in the wiring diagrams. Other than that you're probably ok because supposedly '95 California models were avail w MAF, which seems to be supported by the fact that you mention these manuals discuss mass air. IOW, whenever possible reference the manual for a '95 CA model w/MAF. Unless the manuals discuss OBD-II, the codes and procedures for obtaining them will not be correct for your '96

So far I haven't found any pre 1992 CDs on eBay... anyone found those?
