OD "Off"

Is it OK to drive consistently with the Overdrive in "off" position in town when speed is from 0-50?

OD "Off"

U can drive w/OD off anywhere anytime at any speed for as long as you choose. It's just like having a C6 I know you're supposed to kill OD on the AODs in town, but the AODs are notoriously weak. I don't believe this is an issue on the E4ODs but some people will swear it is. I'd like to hear from an experienced Ford tranny tech on this.

Thanks for the information. I think it makes sense to have OD "off" so the transmission doesn't keep shifting from OD to 3rd and 3rd to OD when top speed is not more than 50 mph.
