ScanGauge II
anyone have this on their SD i was thinking about getting one but i dont know i got a price from the one guy on the forumns here for the factory overhead console and its gonna run like 550 this thing is only 200 but what im looking for is somthing that will tell me direction and mpg and crap like that anyone got any ideas?

I bought the scan guage 2. Its the smaller one on the link you posted. It does show alot of basic info such as fuel consumption, engine temp, etc. And it also will display the DTC fault codes which comes in really handy if the truck flashes an SES light. You can find out what the code means by checking on the forum here. Its a great little tool to have! I paid 169.95 shipping included for mine. Its not the most elaborate piece of hardware but it is cool to know whats going on under the hood. BTW it has 2 different locations where you can plug it in that way the harness that plugs into your rig can stay tucked behind it....pretty well thought out I think and worth the money.

I have been running a ScanGauge II for about a year now. I find I use it more than the standard guages for boost and temp. Instantaneous MPG and Load are the other two parameters I usually monitor. I mounted it in my field of view for quick reference. 1/2 inch hole in the dash bezel and double stick-um tape to mount.

I just put a Scan Gauge II in my '05 Excursion. It is a valuable tool, IMO.
I plan to also put one in my Cobra.
There are similar items like MSD's DashHawk, and Aeroforce's OBD gauges. Both are much more expensive and while they do (in some cases) 0-60 time, calculated HP, etc. I found the ScanGauge to have the features I wanted at a reasonable price.
I got mine from MGT Motorsports (an advertiser of this site). They make a great mount that places the ScanGauge II above your rear view mirror. You can buy the mount and SG as a package. Their mount works perfectly.
