If run a google search under 67-72 Ford trucks should find another 'Ford truck' forum where there are series of articles on 'power steering upgrade' how to shorten steering column as 1 option, and info on the 3 speed manual column.
If go with Bendix steering box the column is not an issue. I went w/ the Ford steering box for 65 F100 with the T18 (4speed) so column was not an issue, just had to shorten the steering rod. Can either shorten steering column, or go w/ later model column and either use spacers where column mounts at dash, or swap brackets with original. If I were to do over again, I would do some research on installing later model w/ tilt column. There are also aftermarket columns that come in varied lengths. As John indicated, if run a search under Bendix power steering, or power steering in 61-66, and 67-72 FTE forums should find great deal of info, and the google search.
