4 wheel drive question

so every once in a while i'll switch into 4wd and into 4 low to make sure it works. my question is while in 4 high i can turn the wheel only 1.5 turns (i know you can't turn real good in 4wd) is this normal? after 1.5 turns it starts to bind and grind. seems like i should be able to turn more but i'm not used to f250 4x4's.

No, not on dry pavement. The distance traveled by the front wheels in a turn is not the same as the distance traveled by the rear, and there is no differential in the transfer case to allow for the different speeds.

Im with KelVarnson, in fact when checking drive trains I will put it in 4wd then on graven turn left and right and listen for clatter, and clunking to ensure every thing is tight. On dry pavement you can easily tear stuff up. If you have manual hub you can engage the hubs a drive normal or engage the 4wd and not the hubs and drive normal with no issues, auto hubs not so lucky when it comes to keeping ujoints and axles warmed up
