I think that light is turned on by the top sensor on your FPR. Where your FPR bolts to the driver side of the fuel filter there is a screen attached to a plastic piece with a small hole and the a plasic ball inside of there. I believe when that screen/hole plugs up it can cause an eroneus light. if you find the link to steve baz's web page there are instructions on how to clean this screen.

Yes, it could. The sensor is a vacuum senor that is designed to detect a clogged filter causing a fuel flow restriction and increased vacuum in the fuel filter housing.

Ok, because after i replaced the new filter, and ran it, even though the light came on i kept driving it but was afraid to get stuck on road at dark, but i gunned it pretty good several times in my drive, lots of black smoke ( superchip talking) and the check filter light would only come on while idling.
