There is not really a big difference in the units themselves. The difference is in the program that is written for your specific engine code. I have used every one of the different manufacturers at one time or another (Diablo, Superchips, SCT, HyperTech, etc), and I have found SCT has some of the best programs plus some of the best customer service.
I own three of them - so I don't consider them trash by any means...
