Has anyone ever installed a doug herbert cam I want to know if its a good cam. Or if I should just go with crane or comp cam. Another question I want to clean out my engines cooling system not a/c because ive been seeing white build up on the radiator cap I had my radiator flushed and cleaned out but I want to clean the water passage on the enigine how do I do this.
the cam specs are 2500 to 6800 .285int .295exh. .225 .235 @.050 .500 .520 lift and 112c lobe the other one is rpm 2800 to 7000 dur .292 .302 @.5 .234 .244 lift .520 and .544 and 114c lobe the truck will go to the track on weekends and some offroading as well
both of those cam profiles are really more suited to drag racing than to off-roading.The cams you just profiled have their powerbands way too high to be "enjoyable" off road,unless you are talking the occasional "mud pit drag race".You would want an "off road" grind,where the power and torque is down low.(usable torque).Go to the small block forum,they can help u there.
