I have a 1999 f250 superduty w/7.3 PSD 91,000 miles and would like to know what I shopuld be getting for fuel mileage. I am getting around 13-14 MPG the truck is totally stock. I just bought it and would like to know what I shoould be getting.
I have a bone stock 03 4x4 supercab with the 7.3 & 3.73's, I get around 15mpg this time of year...winter blend still. I expect summer will pick up a mpg or so. I do 90% secondary road driving, drive 40-50 with lights every mile or 2. I don't drive to conserve, but don't stomp on it either.
I get 16-17 on the highway (~400 miles on ~24 gallons). That was when it was totally stock. Only mods so far are CCV, 6637, and 4" SS MBRP exhaust. Haven't done any highway driving since. However, I'm wondering if the 2WD version has an MPG edge since it's a bit lower in the front that its 4WD brother. Anyone know for sure?
I have a 99.5 auto, 4wd, 4door, short bed and a few weeks ago I checked it on my way to Phoenix and I was getting 19.5. That was checking it the math way, not by the trip computer

D@mn! 19.5?? Do you have any mods? Also, I was running 75-80 mph the whole way...
Yesterday I filled up with 31 gallons on a 29 gallon tank. The fuel gauge was below the red line at "E". I put 499 miles on that tank, almost all city driving. That's 16 mpg on a truck with a 6" lift and 36" tires.
I haven't done the fuel tank mods yet, so when I'm in a hurry, I might get 25g in it. Sunday when fuel was still $2.54/g here I took my time and filled it full as I could. I got a little over 29 in it, and I wasn't at E yet. Glad I did, too -- I just saw that it went up to $2.91 & $2.99 at two stations I passed going to lunch.
Last tank I got 17.2, that is a mix of hiway and city driving, and on winterblend fuel. Best I ever got was 19.8 last summer. I am going for 20 this year as soon as they get #2 back in the tanks!
I bought the 2000 SD 4x4 7.3 diesel Auto. The trip computer was telling me 26-28 MPG with mostly hwy driving. In disbelief I filled it from half tank (on the guage) 13 gallons for 270 miles. That's 20.7 not bad for a big truck. But reality is the actual fuel you've used vs mileage.
Thanks it looks like I am a little low on mpg I have to change the fuel filter and check a few things Thanks for all your help I will keep you all posted onwhat I find Thanks again
