Banks Experience

Have a stock 99 F350 with 7.3 and AT. Original owner with 91k miles. Great investment. Looking to add Exhaust, Brake, and Power to the truck.

I have a large cabover camper and tow a boat. The truck is pretty consistant at 10-11 mpg with good power.

Since I'm now out of warranty, it's time to step it up a notch. Don't want to break the bank, but want to add a quality upgrade.

Looking at the Bank's website, but want to hear from other's that have gone down my road.

Thank's

Hey, welcome to the site. This link at the bottom of my post has become the "universal newbie mod list" thread as i call it. Take a good look at that thread and see how many of the people here with mods on their truck recommend Banks. Don't get me wrong it is Great stuff that works well together, however you pay for the name.

Do an intake, exhaust, a valve body (maybe a converter) and a chip from a credible tuner or else you'll be breaking the "bank" and then leave it alone.

I more or less agree. They make some good products, attention to detail is top notch. But their whole business philosophy, as a business owner, is just nauseating. I have one Banks item, the intercooler, and the only reason I have that was a steal price from an online dealer let me get it for a lot cheaper and not have to deal with Banks direct.

Kris where did my favorite game go..........I need some more crack.

Strokin did an excellent writeup in that link he gave, With a cab-over and towing a boat just be sure to do all of the supporting mods before chipping it. Those EGT's will skyrocket when tuned if you cant keep an eye on them.

When I bought my truck two years ago, the first products I bought for my 7.3 were BANKS. I overpaid about $300 for their MONSTER EXHAUST, I like it, but def could have bought the same quality S/S system from MBRP or SILVERLINE for $400. I also purchased their gauges, which were probably not really any more expensive than Autometer.
I bought a DiabloSport Predator programmer, but want the DP tuner from Jody tipton. def look over as many threads here on the 7.3 section, you will get a lot of great info.
good luck!

I have the 00 with the banks chip, 6 gun tuner, trans command. The other diy were the 6637 and the 4in exhaust. My recommendation is to NOT BUY THE BANKS SYSTEM. Go with the flip chip from Jody everyone talks about. Get the exhs for about 306 buck delivered from ebay. Do the 6637 for cheap. Get guages first, exh and intake, Jody, tranny sonnex, wicked wheel, oil crossover tube, map bypass in about that order or so.

I also have the Banks Monster Exhaust and the 6 Gun Tuner. I have no complaints whatsoever about the exhaust, the 6 gun however was big let down. The most HP gain I get is 60HP and I paid almost $500 for it. I can get a 60HP tune from Jody at DP Tuner for $50. I made the mistake of buying my chip before I knew about the DP Tuner.
