Congrats on the new purchase! I have owned my '01 Expy since new and have not had any major issues. Be sure to keep up with the scheduled maintenance and you should get many reliable miles out of your truck. Enjoy it!
I have an '01 expy. I have had a problem with my differential but that's an out of the ordinary problem. Other than that, i've had no problems with it. Good choice!
thanks for the reply's....i put about 70 miles on it yesterday and love driving it....the rig only has 61k on it so it's still pretty tight. thanks again
took the expy out for the first road trip last weekend. went to nevada. roughly 320 miles. got just under 19 mpg going down and just under 16 mpg coming back. i am a happy person with the new ride.
I have had mine since the beginning, had always done all maintenence and drove it easy. Too easy I think. I believe I had the lemon. I have had to replace the tranmission at 48,000, the rear end at 50, something thousand and just had to replace the fuel pump in the tank. I am closing in on 90,000 and besides those issues have had none. Engine still strong, electrical, well I do have to tap the dashboard by the mileage to get the lites to come on the display, but there is a thread here that tells how to fix that. Just have not done it yet. IAC also replaced.
She has been great for long road trips, very very comfortable.
Just have others have said, keep that oil changed and regular safety checks for brakes and such and she should be fine.
I also , for my own, have found that 76 gas makes her wince, shell makes her cough, cheap gas goes thru her, but Chevron and Mobile regular are the best for mine.
I know people say there is no difference in gas, but mine knows the difference.
