I have a 96 E-350 bus it shorted out 1 of the clearance lights on the rear of the bus and blew a 30 amp fuse under the hood i replaced the fuse now i still dont have any tail lights or backup lights.I have brake lights and turn signals thats all.
Check the fuses under the dash. Because it's a bus ie. Commercial Chassis and E-350 RV Chassis, your fuse panel contains extra fuses installed by the Body Builder, they should be #9 and #11.
Sorry, I have to ask. Did you fix the shorted light?

Do you have any panels in the top of the bus that might have relays in it? Have you checked the ones under the hood? There is a box below the coiled brake lines coming out of the master cylinder. It is a bit hard to get to. Do you have an electrical drawing for the truck so you could trace the wires?
There are 2 relays inside the bus there is power going to them and power coming out of them,no i don`t have a wiring diagram i called a bus sales and service they are sending me 1.With the relays inside will there still be 1 under the hood?I will check the relays under the hood.I will let youknow
I would not think that just clearance lights would require a 30 amp fuse. It must be tied in with other things. Even with tail lights and back up lights it probably would not need 30 amps. Do you know what else went out when the fuse went bad? I am wondering if they go through the milti function switch, or more likely the headlight switch. A bus or ambulance body ahould have an additional electrical system that is tied into the basic one. That is why I asked about panels inside the bus. They are usually up top somewhere. If you unplug the headight switch you should be able to see if any of the pins are burned. I hate electrical problems. With me it is usually trial and error. But take your time and you will find it. And by the way, welcome to FTE.
