Patch Panel Replacement

Need some advice. I am going to replace the panel behind the driver door, in front of the rear tire, bottom of the quarter. This is on an 89 Bronco II. I purchased a plasma cutter for this task. I purchased a new patch panel from LMC Trucks. It looks like the original panel is double walled. Do I have to separate outer and inner panels, or is the original one just thicker? Thanks for any help.

If you are working close to the rear wheel then it isn't double walled, just the inner fender well. You can drill out the inner fender well welds. They're just small spot welds. Cut you're panel you are removing smaller than your'e replacement panel. A good tool to use is a crimp/flange tool. The plasma cutter may actuallu put out too much heat and warp you're Bronco body. A die grinder with a good cutting wheel would do it.
