So if I do my own oil changes, and keep the oil and filter receipts, and keep a log, I will be all right as far as warranties go? Sounds like an easy way to cheat, and they might think the same thing? (Ex) Buy everything and use it in another vehicle, and skip the change but write something down in your book. Going to a lube shop and having it done would give you a more precise record, but I like doing it myself.
Not necessary! Some form of record is good, but certainly not required. Nothing short of a total loss or odometer fraud will completely void a warranty!
Now, if a dealer can prove that the damage was caused by neglect or an aftermarket part, they will not cover THAT problem. However, if they can't prove neglect, they can't charge you for a warranty repair.
I'd suggest using the www.myford.fordvehicles.com website. This site is great, and allows you to manually enter your own service history. There IS a check box for "home repair" for any sort of work.
They have to prove you were negligent, you do NOT have to prove that you weren't!!!
Regardless of what you do, dealer service, local repair shop service or your own driveway. If you're dealing with one of those questionable dealerships, then you can have problems EVEN if they've been taking care of your truck. But if you're dealership is reputable, it's very unlikely that you'll have any issues.
Sounds like you've read some of the fine print on the extended warranty.
Honestly, I wouldn't worry about it. Just take good care of your truck and you'll be fine.

I go to myford.com as suggested and keep records for both of my Fords. It also updates you on recalls and other things. Work you have done at the Ford dealership also comes up with you pull up the history.
