Speaker ?

I have a 74 F250 that im currently doing lil work to. I would like to get all speakers replaced in the front. I have already replaced my door speakers but would like to know if anyone has an idea of what size speaker goes in the center on the dash. The truck currently has two small round speakers in the dash.

I think it is a 6x9. That is the most common speakers for the dash area.

They usually didnt have a speaker in the center...the grill thats there is for the defroster and other AC components. Unless someone at one pointhas put one in aftermarket.

It is a specially designed speaker from Ford that fits in there with a special mounting bracket.
A plain 6" x 9" won't work like Original.

I saw an ad once (I dont remember where) and they had a speaker that fit in the original location but it was acually two speakers in one.
Im hoping that some day someone will make a digital stereo with a hard drive and ***** that fits in the original location and can be hooked into an Ipod or some other device and have music downloaded into it. That would be slick to have an old looking radio that had all the modern technology in it.

I always figured that it was either/or. Either you have stereo and door speakers or you don't and you had the single center dash speaker.

If you really want to run door and center speakers, get a dual voice coil speaker for the center unit.

Two 3 1/2"ers fit up there pretty decent, and will give stereo sound.
