I think i have a cracked exhaust manifold. Does anyone know where I can get a new one? It is a 90 302 and it is the drivers side exhaust manifold. Does anyone have have any spare ones left over? I'm in Southern California.
You can buy a set of shortie headers that will bolt up to your existing y pipe. While they arent as good as full length headers, they are alot easier to put on and not much more than the exhaust manifolds. If you get headers I would put locking bolts on,they arent much and eliminate the problems of having to tighten header bolts and exhaust leaks.
The header suggestion is a good bet, I had the same issue on my 302 and I went with the manifolds only to have leakage problems. I opted for the shorty headers, they're cheap, they go in easy and they add some horse power.
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 11-Apr-02 AT 09:59 PM (EST)]I agree with the shorty headers. I just put some Smog headers on my 89 Bronco 302. Very easy to install. You'll have to remove your dip-stick from the oil pan. It will have to be slightly reshaped to fit around the header and you'll have to file down a couple of support brackets (one for the coil and one for the dip-stick) to allow them to fit on the header bolt. (Not very much clearance between the header pip and bolt.) I completely removed the engine hoist brackets. You'll also have to move a couple of things away from the headers to keep them from melting. Zip ties work great for this. Headers make allot of difference. These headers mentioned here are 50 state legal! Or if you're still interested in sticking with stock manifolds, email me at bronco894x4(No Email Addresses In Posts!).

Shorty 5.0L headers would probably be the way to go.The only reason I don't have a set on my '90 Bronco's 5.0L,is that I plan on stuffing a 7.5L big-block into it.I did a search, and came up with a few places that sell both new&used 5.0L truck exhaust manifolds. One place is out in Hayward,CA(I don't know how close that is to you.),that lists them at $125.It doesn't say if that price is for a pair,or for each manifold. One of the other places I found lists them at $107.15.The factory 302 manifolds always had problems,I'd seriously consider headers for your 302,instead.The 302 will gain more horsepower&torque,so that's a plus.
I also have an exhaust noise coming from the drivers side
of the engine near the exhaust manifold on my 90 Bronco 302. It drives me crazy
and I can't locate where it leaks. I only here it while driving and the engine is working a little like under acceleration. Where do the manifolds usually crack? I was hoping it was a gasket. I would love the shorty headers, where did you buy them? What brand? How much? I haven't been able to locate any yet.
My exhaust studs look like they will break off form the rust and corrosion, any good tips on getting the nuts off besides PB Blaster for a week?
F.R.P.P. sells stainless steel shorty headers for 1990-1995 5.0L F-series/Bronco/E-series vans(part # M-9430-T50) for $299 a set.As far as O.E.M. replacement 5.0L exhaust manifolds go,I've found another company that offers them:AutoKrafters,Inc. I just got their new '80-'96 F-series/Bronco parts catalog in the mail the other day.It lists them at $99.95 each. They fit '87-'95 F-150/F-250/Broncos with the 5.0L,and have the O2 hole in them for the oxygen sensors. So headers will cost approx. $100 more, but you'll be adding more horsepower&torque to that 302,so,in my opinion, that's $100 well spent.I don't know what other companies offer 302 shorty headers,so you might find a set of headers a bit cheaper, but I doubt they'll be the stainless steel variety.Hope this helps.
I know a few that have used Summits shorty headers and have liked them. They are $159. My drivers side seems to be leaking at the gasket but I can't be sure because of the heat shield. Where do the manifolds typically crack at?
