When I need a new truck, I would be spending about 15,000 I got thinking it would cost under 10 Gs if I put a Diesel in my 1998 Body. liek the 4.4L for 2009, I would need a bigger rear axle, id go for a 4.10, and id Upgrade my rear leafs. is this something that could be at all possible.
Yes, I think it would be great, mabe I wouldint need a SD, but its all just a Idea. Emmisions tests yeah there around. would be less than the 4.2L I got now no.
In my state there would be problems passing the emissions inspection because the fuel type is not the same as the state computer says it should be. This happened to the guy who runs a towing company I've used before(when I had a Chevy). He bought a used flat bed tow truck that someone had converted to diesel(unknown to him at purchase) and was unable to license it. I would check for sure before starting.
wil my 4.2 is still good but rather then spending $20,000 on a new truck i could spend about 10 Gs and put a diesel in my 1998. the Motors not out yet. so future. Im not putting a summins in my Ford, and I know a 6.4L is to big.
check out some of the 4 cylinder cummins motors from the small delivery step vans. we droped one into a chevy 1500 with out any major work needed useing the stock chevy rear end and have spec'd out trying to stick one into a ranger with stiffer springs to hold the weight.
